* Please check here regularly as we will post
updates here!
Although most EyeSpytm users have had no problems using the device we like to give a
few hints that may help if you have any problems.
1) place the Software disc into the
CDrom slot of the computer. The install window will appear. (If not
go to "My computer" drive D.
Select
install Cam only
2) Program will install, when done:
3) Plug in the camera and the
installation will be complete
4) The window will show the
image. Click the Camera icon to "Take the shot" The image is
automatically stored in yout picture file.
On the Right
hand side you can click to select the pixel size .This will
also determine the size of the window of the recorded image.
5) The left hand side has an icon to
click for zoom. In the window you'll see the zoom
button. The other features are not used for iridology.
6) On the bottom of the main
window you can click the file to find all your images or click on
the thumbnail image to bring up the last
picture
taken.
7) You may like to download PISA2 from
Google for free This is a wonderful program that you can use to
enhance your images.
Notes on the Cam program / EyeSpy tm
After installation of the software, run the program
with the camera plugged-in.
If you have problems installing, connect to the
internet and download the latest version of the program. After
installation you can check for updates any time by selecting “Check
for updates”
When you start the program it may take a little while
for the software to recognize the camera.
The word "Connecting" should appear.
If you have used other cameras on your computer
you may have to go to the menu, which is found in the right hand top
corner, click on the down arrow, select settings and follow
instructions. For the purists click on properties and make adjustments to the
colour, contrast and white balance just as you like it. I found that
taking the contrast from 1.3 to 1.1 will get rid of the light glare.
Remember the settings and do ONE thing at the time. If there is no
improvement set the value back to where it was. Or just click
default. For the
USA
select 60 Hz. other countries 50 Hz flicker rate.
The little icon block with 2 arrows (Rh side) is the
place to click to set the
recording pixel rate.
Normally the software will record at the same value as the
video setting (remember that moving images always look clearer to
our eyes then stills) Try the 1.3 Mp setting, you will find that the
image window is larger in size (at first the quality may look worse
but remember you have enlarged the image) Select whatever setting
you like best.
The icon on the left hand side has the zoom function;
Just click and hold the left icon down and see the image getting
larger in size. This is a nice feature, zooming in on an interesting
area before you take the picture.
The auto saving function puts the image in a file and
leaves a thumb nail in the left hand bottom corner for you to click
on. Your software may be configured differently but the folder icon
on the left will always open the picture file. There are other
functions available with this program, but these are not of interest
for the iridologist and therefore I have not covered these in my
notes. Cam Help will give full detailed instructions.
Note that all eyes are NOT located at the same depth
in the eye socket, so to adjust the focus screw adjuster on the back
of the EyeSpy tm is used. This is a very
simple screw arrangement and a click may be heard when the end of
the travel is reached. Turn the screw clockwise to engage again. We
have set the lens adjustment in our lab about half way for Caucasian
eyes i.e. the adjustment can be made to go closer and further away
from the eye. This should do for most applications. If you find that
you can NOT focus because the adjuster screw is at its maximum
travel turn the black lens in the eyecup (with a slot) in or out
slightly (Remove the lens head and just use your thumb nail as the
lens moves freely.) The CCD camera element is open in this
camera and could gather dust, showing as black or grey spots on the
screen. You can test this by putting the lens over a white sheet of
paper. To remove this dust just blowing in the camera
can fix it. If not, use a cotton
tip with alcohol and VERY VERY carefully wipe the
cotton tip over the CCD
(the shiny thing in the bottom) Check
again on the white paper until clear.
Hope you like using the EyeSpy tm if you have any suggestions,
